If it weren’t for the travails of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, there would be a lot more talk about the struggles of Punjab Kings so far this season.
They have just two wins from their opening seven matches and similarly to RCB, they really have to get on a roll, and fast, but I can’t see that happening this weekend.
I’m looking at Gujarat to beat Punjab at 9/10 with Unibet.
They may have been bowled out for 89 earlier this week in a defeat to Delhi, and they’re not having a fantastic tournament with three wins. But the Titans are a far better outfit than Punjab and beat league leaders Rajasthan last week.
Punjab Kings v Gujarat Titans
You know the drill when it comes to Gujarat matches. I’m a stubborn so and so. Back Shubman Gill!!!
Take out an 8 in the other’s day collapse to 89 all out against Delhi and the Indian opener has been in good touch of late; scores of 36, 89 not out, 19 and 72 in four previous innings.
At time of writing, he is amongst the six top run-scorers in the competition with 263, and I don’t see any reason to go against him.
Betfair have him at a boosted 11/4 to be Gujarat’s top batter in the match.
Finally, don’t pile in on this as it’s a long shot, but 10bet are offering 15/2 on Punjab’s Shashank Singh to top-score for his side.
He bats at number six, but he’s their leading run-scorer with 187, including scores of 61 not out, 46 not out and 41 in his last four games. He’s top-scored with two of those scores.
