Sunrisers Hyderabad vs RCB Tips and Predictions
I will be completely honest, if you’d have said to me at the start of the tournament, ‘One of these teams will be at the top and the other at the bottom’, I’d have had it the other way around.
My thoughts were that Royal Challengers Bangalore would have a run at finals cricket this year and Sunrisers Hyderabad would be ailing. Alas, no.
In winning five of their seven games, Sunrisers have posted totals of 266-7, 277-3 and 287-3. They are three of four highest totals in competition history, that 287-3 being the highest.
Given RCB’s nightmare campaign, it’s really difficult to back them to win, although they will at some point. No matter how bad things are, you can’t go through a 14-game campaign without winning two or three at least.
I think Sunrisers are a bit short to back outright, but I will include them in a combination.
Never mind Sunrisers, it’s been a case of Run-risers this IPL
Pat Cummins and his boys have obliterated some teams, the likes of Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen and Abhishek Sharma doing the business for the Orange Army.
But Royal Challengers, to be fair to them, have been no slouches with the bat. They have posted totals of 262-7 and 221 all out in losing causes.
Betway’s 31/20 on Sunrisers to win and hit the highest six-over powerplay has definite value given openers Head (324) and Sharma (257) have contributed nearly 600 runs between them.
If you look at bets for runs, the bookies clearly know it could be a high-scoring contest.
But Australian Head to score a fifty has been boosted to 9/4 with Ladbrokes. He’s scored two fifties and a hundred in six innings so far.
William Hill have priced up a treble at 10/3 - Sunrisers win, them to score most sixes and there to be over 19.5 sixes in the match. Sunrisers have scored 99 tournament sixes to RCB’s 82.
Will Jacks, or Will Whacks?
After two single-figure scores from number three for Bangalore, England’s Will Jacks posted 55 in Sunday’s high-scoring defeat against Kolkata. He top-scored for his side.
Despite having Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis in front of him as openers, I think betfair’s 5/1 on him to be his side’s top-scorer for the second match running is too juicy to pass up.
At time of writing, we have seen six centuries in this season’s IPL, with one apiece for each side. Kohli has scored one, and so has the left-handed Head.
With that in mind, I think vbet’s 11/2 on a century to be scored in this fixture is worth having a dabble at.
