Arsenal’s hopes of securing their first-ever Champions League trophy ended on Wednesday evening when they were beaten 1-0 by German outfit, Bayern Munich.
Their European exit means the Gunners’ only available silverware this season is now the Premier League, with Mikel Arteta’s side currently priced at 4/1 to lift the trophy in May.
Mikel Arteta on Premier League title race
Arsenal secured a 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich in the first leg at the Emirates last week, leaving them with something of a mountain to climb in the reverse fixture on Wednesday.
When all was said and done, the task proved too much for an inexperienced Gunners side, who have now not made it past the quarter-final stage of the Champions League for 15 years.
After losing to Bayern, Mikel Arteta was quizzed on the north Londoners’ Premier League title challenge, and said: “What we have ahead is beautiful. Six games to go and we are two points behind City. It is a busy schedule for everybody. We have to go through the pain tonight, and tomorrow get up, come with the same attitude that we came here and hopefully beat Wolves.”
The first of Arsenal’s remaining six games this campaign comes vs Wolves on Saturday. Back Arsenal to pick up the win at 4/11.
