Cristiano Ronaldo Profile
Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the biggest names in the history of football with a decorated career in Portugal, England, Spain and Italy.
With over 700 career goals scored across a career that has spanned over 15 years, Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most consistent performers in the history of the game for both club and country.
Cristiano Ronaldo Betting Odds
As Portugal look to defend their European Championship title in 2020, Cristiano Ronaldo will once again be at the forefront of their plans.
Despite being in the latter years of his career, Ronaldo remains Juventus’ biggest attacking threat and will be the main man ahead of the likes of Bernardo Silva and Joao Felix.
Ronaldo dragged Portugal over the line in Euro 2016 even when he had to come off injured in the final and he will be key to his country’s chances five years on.
Euro 2020 Betting Odds
Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal are 12/1 with BetVictor to go all the way and win Euro 2020 in what could well be Cristiano Ronaldo’s final appearance at a major international tournament.
He and his team will have to hit the ground running though because they’ve been given a horrible draw alongside France, Germany and Hungary in Group F.
Early Career
Cristiano Ronaldo started his career at Sporting Lisbon in Portugal and quickly progressed through the youth team ranks.
He was promoted to the first team at the age of 16 and he subsequently became the first player to play for the club’s under-16, under-17 and under-18 teams, the B team, and the first team, all within a single season.
His performances attracted interest from all over Europe and it was Manchester United that managed to secure his services, paying £13 million to bring him to Old Trafford.
Club Career
Manchester United
Sir Alex Ferguson acquired Cristiano Ronaldo in a deal that saw him become the most expensive teenager in English football (at the time) and he was immediately given the number 7 shirt. He took time to adjust to life in English football and managed 15 goals in 90 appearances across his first two seasons at Old Trafford.
From the 2005-06 season onwards however, Ronaldo acclimatised to life in English football in a big way, scoring 103 goals in 202 appearances across all competitions as Manchester United dominated European football. In his six seasons with the Red Devils, Cristiano Ronaldo won 3 Premier League titles, two English League Cups, one FA Cup, a Community Shield, the FIFA Club World Cup and the 2008 UEFA Champions League.
Ronaldo’s form with United attracted interest from Real Madrid and he joined the Spanish giants for a World Record fee of £80 million in 2009.
Real Madrid
Cristiano Ronaldo hit the ground running at Real Madrid and forged a fantastic relationship with the fans at the Bernabeu. He scored 26 goals in his first season in Madrid and went on to surpass all of the goal scoring records at the club.
Ronaldo scored a remarkable 450 goals in 438 appearances foe Real Madrid and won a string of individual and club honours; 2 La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey, two Spanish Super Cups’, three FIFA Club World Cup, two UEFA Super Cup and the UEFA Champions League on 4 occasions.
Juventus
Following the 2018 Champions League final, Ronaldo made clear his intentions to leave Real Madrid and he signed for Italian side Juventus for a fee of €100 million.
He was an instant success at the Juventus Stadium, scoring important goals as Juve won Serie A in both of his first seasons at the club.
International Career
Cristiano Ronaldo made his international debut for Portugal at the age of 18 back in 2003 and he has gone on to make 162 appearances for his country. He was influential in Portugal reaching the final of Euro 2004 and then going on to win Euro 2016 and the Nations League in 2019 and in total, he has scored 102 goals for his country.
