Our top selections for Friday matches

Starting From Now

If you prefer your football to have more of an international tint, then we have four of our very best bets to keep you entertained.

Two European Heavyweights

To get this goals accumulator underway I am going straight in at the deep end and that means a clash between two of the continent’s true powerhouses. Step forward France and the Netherlands, as they prepare to meet in Paris.

Last year’s World Cup runners-up going up against a nation that made it to the quarterfinals in Qatar. This one almost writes itself in terms of goals and with France recently making Kylian Mbappe as their new captain, this will be the perfect stage to show off his armband.

Something that I believe will be the case, as both nations manage to get themselves on the scoresheet and in doing so, share at least three goals at the Stade de France. Which is why I am backing over 2.5 at odds of 21/20.

A New Era

After Belgium’s golden generation lost its shine in Qatar, Roberto Martinez would soon call time on his stint as manager of the Red Devils. Now though, the coaching baton has been passed on to Domenico Tedesco.

While the former RB Leipzig manager’s first task within the theatre of international warfare is a trip to Sweden and one that may actually catch out a Belgian side that is going through a process of transition.

This upcoming visit to Stockholm is not going to be easy and it may mean that the affair is a rather cagey one. Sweden have scored two goals in each of their last four friendlies but with more needle attached to Friday’s encounter, I am backing under 2.5 goals at odds of 7/10.

Czech This Out

Now we are off to Prague as the Czech Republic prepare to welcome Poland to the Fortuna Arena and it is fair to say that Friday’s hosts have been rather out of sorts in recent months. Bar an emphatic 5-0 win over the Faroe Islands last November, it has been nothing but defeat.

Jaroslav Šilhavý's men have lost four of their last five outings. Three of them came in the Nations League and the other was a friendly defeat to Turkey in the same week that they demolished the Faroes.

Now they have to roll out the red carpet to Robert Lewandowksi and company and with the Polish hitman looking to make sure he reaches Euro 2024, goals are likely to be on the agenda in the Czech capital. Therefore, I am backing over 2.5 at 23/20.

Last Not Least

While my final pick takes me to the Moldovan capital of Chisinau. Not the most glamorous of European hotspots it must be said but there is still enough lure for me to pay attention to the visit of the Faroe Islands on Friday.

Whereas the meeting of France and the Netherlands will see two giants square off, this one will see two minnows pitted together. Both are more than capable of getting a result from each other and I would not be prepared to pick an eventual outcome.

With that said, the ability for this game to have ebb and flow across 90 minutes should mean that both nations are good for a goal each. The home win may be too bold a move, backing both teams to score at odds of 11/10 certainly is not.

While if you put all four combinations together, Bet365 are prepared to offer you 14.73/1 in return.
