What are England's Chances at Euro 2020?

Can Gareth Southgate's men go all the way?

England head to the Euro 2020 Championships as one of the leading contenders with the bookmakers. We have three teams at the top of the betting, England, France and Belgium.

This is something we haven’t seen for some time, but fully deserved given their performance at the 2018 World Cup, and the emergence of even more players since that tournament.

Here we take a look at how far England can go in the tournament, with up to date odds for each stage of the competition.

Odds on England Winning Group D

England started the tournament as favourites to win Group D, and after a win against Croatia in their opening game, they are now big favourites to do that, with two games to go.

Those games come up against Scotland and the Czech Republic, England will be strong odds on to win both of those.

A group win gives England a tough second round matchup, but also gives them a path that takes them away from Wembley just once, should they go all the way.

Odds on England Making the Quarter Finals

If England win their group the last 16 game they will play is scheduled to be a Wembley, but it is also scheduled to be against the runner up from Group F, containing France, Germany and Portugal, so this won’t be easy.

However, when you look at the quality in this England team, being knocked out at this stage would still be classed as a disappointing tournament for them.

Despite a potentially tough matchup awaiting them, England are still odds on to reach the quarter finals of Euro 2020.

Odds on England Making the Semi Finals

This is where things get interesting, England are expected by their fans to get to the semi finals at least, so now we can talk about realistic goals for this team where people would be happy.

Getting to the semi finals would mean a quarter final win, which, if England win their group, if going to be the only time they will play away from Wembley all tournament.

England are odds against in this market, the first time we have seen that so far.

Odds on England Making the Final

England crashed out in extra time at the semi final stage of the 2018 World Cup, can they go one better here with that experience under their belt.

The team have known for some time that the semi finals and final of this event will be staged at Wembley, giving them the chance to play on home soil in what could be the biggest games of their collective careers.

Can England get to the Euro 2020 final?

Odds on England Winning Euro 2020

Can England go all the way? Many of their youthful squad gained vital experience at the 2018 World Cup, and were one game away from the final.

With that under their belt, and the likes of Phil Foden in particular emerging as a star talent, this England team is arguably much better than the one that went to the World Cup.

England are at the head of the betting alongside France and just ahead of Belgium, and that is fully deserved, especially given the amount of games they may end up playing at Wembley.
